Lucky thirteen for Ayr's Amanda!
It was lucky thirteen for Amanda Christie this week at Prestwick Airport.
For Amanda (41), from Stobhill Crescent in Ayr, was stunned to learn she was Ryanair's thirteen millionth passenger in Scotland since it started flights from Prestwick back in 1994.
Amanda and husband Stan (47) were flying to Bournemouth for a short break, and they were presented with champagne and free flights to Marseille by the airline.
"I didn't believe it when they told me," said Amanda. "I thought it was a wind-up at first, but I'm delighted to get the fizz and the flights to the south of France. It's a lovely surprise."
Karl Hogstadius, Ryanair's Deputy Sales & Marketing Manager UK, said: "Congratulations to Amanda and Stan. We're delighted to have carried thirteen million passengers on our twenty-two Scottish routes in twelve years. This clearly proves that Scots love our low fares plus the popularity of Scotland as a travel destination. This year alone we expect to carry over 2.5 million passengers to and from Scotland.
"Currently we've got fares from only 49p* from Prestwick, and additional information can be found on www.ryanair.com."
